ACQUISITION OF 5 OFF 5 ON RACE TEAM PERFORMANCE
Mooresville, N.C. (Monday, May 12, 2003) --- Pit Instruction and Training, L.L.C. (PIT) announces the acquisition of 5 Off 5 On Race Team Performance in Mooresville, N.C. 5 Off 5 On specializes in training pit crew personnel and offers reality experience packages.
Principles from PIT involved in the acquisition include Tom DeLoach, former CFO of Mobil Corporation and President of Global Midstream, Michael Dryman, founder and CEO of IMPACTSports and Jeff Hammond, former NASCAR Winston Cup championship crew chief and current analyst for NASCAR on FOX. The founder of 5 Off 5 On, Breon Klopp, will continue with the organization as Senior Director of Motorsports Development.
I wanted to take 5 Off 5 On to the next level and PIT offers tremendous resources and opportunities, said Klopp.
In addition to training teams and pit crew personnel, 5 Off 5 On also offers a school for those interested in becoming pit crew members.
With the industry focus on pit stops and top-level pit crew members, our organization is a tremendous resource, said Hammond. In addition, we help aspiring pit crew members develop the skills they need to secure positions within the racing industry. 5 Off 5 On also offers corporate and fan based reality experience packages including special programs for youth.
We offer exciting packages for corporate groups, fans and youth that provide them with an interactive experience like that of an actual pit crew member, said DeLoach.
PIT will begin construction of a 24,000 sq. ft. building on 5.5 acres located adjacent to the NASCAR Technical Institute in Mooresville, N.C.after finalizing the investor group. The PIT facility will feature a state-of-the-art physical conditioning and rehabilitation facility,
multi-purpose training room, therapy room, steam room, motorsports training shop, 98-person auditorium, merchandise shop, locker rooms, catering kitchen, classrooms, offices and more. The PIT campus will include a 1/4-mile track and pit road with six pit stalls, eight-lane competitive running and jogging track, 1/2-mile natural terrain fitness trail,
regulation beach volleyball court, natural turf multi-sport training area and 15 garage stalls to store and maintain racing vehicles and equipment.
